This 10-week course includes nearly 4 hours of video synchronized slide content and several hours of exams and testing for acumen and concept retention of presented materials. The 7 sessions combine lecture, video presentations, post-session exercises and assessments designed to enable participants to monitor their progress throughout. The course includes business cases which continue to provide the participant with cutting edge analytical skills that can be applied to contemporary situations in the world of business.
This course provides participants with the ability to understand the detailed elements of working capital and conduct a liquidity risk assessment for a company by examining financial statements, notes to financial statements, and important financial ratios and trends. The course uses a variety of actual company case examples and exercises to bring the concepts of liquidity risk assessment to life and provide participants with a set of tools that they can use to conduct an analysis of working capital and liquidity risk for their customers.

- Calculating different financial ratios
- Understanding the elements of working capital
- Understanding the sources of working capital information
- Impact of timing on liquidity risk
- Derivative use and liquidity risk
- Liquidity and financial distress
- Managing liquidity using short term credit lines
- Case applications
Over the course timeframe, students should expect to commit approximately 30-40 hours of total time learning the foundational aspects of becoming astute in the acumen of working capital and liquidity risk assessment.
This course is delivered by Steven C Isberg, Ph.D., Sr Research Fellow, Credit Research Foundation. In addition to his primary role as Chair, Department of Accounting at Towson University, Dr. Isberg has been involved with the Credit Research Foundation for over 20 years, designing and participating in customized training programs, a variety of research projects, directing and reviewing surveys, and writing and reviewing publications.
This is an On-Demand Course, allowing students to work independently and at their own pace to accommodate the time demands of busy professionals. After reviewing the presentations and course materials, the participant is required to take a final exam. Those who receive a grade of 70% or higher will receive an electronic “Certificate of Professional Development” from the Credit Research Foundation and earn 1.4 CEUs.
