Managing Working Capital (AR & AP)
AI as a Staple in Revenue Cycle Management
Presented by Neeraj Gupta, VP of Product Management, FIS
For centuries Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) departments have operated in silos. While they each have their own give and take when it comes to revenue cycle management, they both ultimately have the same goal; to improve the company’s bottom line. So, why are these two departments, which are major components of working capital, still operating independently? When you look externally, AR and AP departments are constantly in a tug-of-war battle pushing work on each other. When one side makes an improvement, it creates more work and headaches for the other side. It does not have to be that way.
In this session you will Learn:
- How AR and AP departments can work together with digital applications
- Why technology can breakdown these individual silos of AP and AR
- What artificial intelligence (AI) can do to improve revenue cycle management both internally and externally for your business

Using Emotional Intelligence to Support Success in the Workplace – Executive Personal Development
Presented by Janine Friedman, Choice Training & Coaching Solutions
Did you know that your success in the workplace (and in life) is more impacted by your EQ (Emotional Intelligence Quotient) than your IQ? Or that the higher you go in an organization, the more important your EQ is?
Join us for a lively discussion on the set of skills that make up Emotional Intelligence including being aware of our reactions to others, our ability to manage our moods at work, being able to handle change, taking initiative, having teamwork skills and more.
As daily work life continues to become more stressful, recognizing how emotions impact work performance has never been more important. The good news is that unlike IQ, our Emotional Intelligence Quotient (EQ), can continually develop and grow.
This program will provide specific strategies that will allow you to develop your abilities in the four core areas of Emotional Intelligence:
- Self- Awareness
- Your ability to accurately perceive your own emotions in the moment and understand personal tendencies across situations.
- Self-Management
- Your ability to use awareness of your emotions to actively choose what you say and do.
- Social Awareness
- Your ability to accurately pick up on emotions in other people and understand what is really going on.
- Relationship Management
- Your ability to use awareness of your emotions and those of others to manage interactions successfully.

Understanding Digital Lockboxes: What Got You Here Won’t Get You There
Presented by Flint Lane, Founder & CEO, Billtrust
If what got you here were paper checks, bank lockboxes and an office-based AR, what will get you there are digital payments, digital lockboxes, and the ability to support a remote workforce. And while digital payments solve a lot of issues and make buyers happy, they also can be more expensive for suppliers to process, and remittance can come separately from the payment, most often in an email, leading to manual processing headaches. During this presentation, you’ll learn about the concept of a “digital lockbox,” which automates, captures and processes remittance data from email and accounts payable portals, while formatting it to be compatible with an AR system…all while giving you the ability to more effectively accept digital payments and provide world-class customer service.
You’ll also learn:
- Why it’s important to make it attractive for buyers to digitally transact with you
- The difference between automation and digital adoption
- Why the one-two punch of an online billing site and a digital lockbox are table stakes for a modern business
- How AP teams can solve the proliferation of AP portals
- How today’s digital lockboxes allow buyers and sellers to digitally transact without massive behavioral or technology changes, creating a future where paper checks virtually disappear
